More snow

Oh, man...more snow.

When I got up I had no idea it was snowing because it was still dark outside. Until Frankie came in from his 90 second trip to pee and he looked like this.

Can I tell you how frustrated I am with our local weather reporting? You know, the same reporting that didn't predict the blizzard I was caught in on Sunday night. I have been trying for days to find out what the weather today is going to be like. We're planning a trip into Victoria to have dinner with friends, and I don't want a repeat of Sunday's adventure. Well, on Sunday the forecast for today was rain. On Monday it said we would have snow today. Yesterday it said we would have no precipitation today. Now it says it's raining - at this very minute it's raining. You know what? It's not raining!

I think I have an attitude problem...

Woah! We don't get snow, so I always have a pang of (irrational) jealousy for people who do. But, then I remember my year in NYC, and how fun snow was during the month of November, but how miserable and unfun it was in January.... and March.... and I didn't even have to shovel anything! I'm sure it is a giant pain.... but it looks pretty beautiful!!

How beautiful! I love this time of year here in Montana, where my hubby and I live. I worked the past several years as a conservation education specialist for our state wildlife agency. I was super excited to find a blog from a fellow science educator. I can't wait to see what you have to show us next!

Oh no, you do NOT have an attitude problem. I dread the white crap before it even falls. We just had a nice 20 cm dump of the heavy, wet stuff like you had, and it wreaks havoc with trees and power lines and roads.

I SO feel your pain.

I feel your pain too weatherwise. I rather have just rain, no ice and no snow. We had a horrendous night of high winds, snow and rain today. oh and no power for two and a half hours. I was in the middle of cooking something in the crock pot when the lights went out. Frustrating. It is not 6:34 and dinner is not ready for two more hours.

Miriam, you just have to adapt to the west coast "roll of the eyes" about the forecasts. Don't you know yet that we have some of the most unpredictable weather in the country? :) Apparently our neck of the woods is where the weather systems begin for the rest of the continent...but I here you. I had a resolution this year to harvest veggies to keep in fridge if there was any snow on the way. Sadly, there wasn't snow on the way, until it was too late. Wah!

PS-Cliff Mass' weather blog is often the best place to go for information, if you're not checking there already. Haven't checked on what he had to say about this most recent system, though...
