I scrubbed my running shoes the other day - they were a mess after a summer's worth of dust and dirt - and when I was done I turned them upside down on the veranda steps to drain and dry.
And who was hiding underneath when I retrieved them the next morning?
This little fellow.

Are you sure that it was all dust and dirt that you washed off your shoes? The toad suggests that it may not have been! :-)
That's cool.
I usually get just slugs.
Pretty cool find.
Lo!
What a dear. My children would be beyond thrilled to make such a discovery! Me too!
Ha! I opened the kettle grill not too long ago and found the most shockingly green tree frog, of good size, who placidly allowed me to move him to the mint patch. I find myself oddly fond of frogs. This little fellow looks like a healthy garden helper, as long as he steers clear of the chickens!
I was rifling through my worm bin and a tree frog landed right on my ankle. It was magic. I love those guys.
Lovely little frog.
We usually get the dimpled, toad-y kind. Yours looks tropical!
