Stinky

I think I was channeling my inner Georgia O'Keeffe yesterday. This is skunk cabbage, which really does smell like skunk - so I am told by people with a sense of smell. Which is to say it stinks.

But isn't it lovely?

Oh, we had skunk cabbage all over the woods where I grew up! I think actual skunks smell worse, but you wouldn't want to invite either one in for the night.

Yes, it looks very lovely!

Seeing the last picture, with all the green around and the stinky flower at a distance makes me wonder.. how neat it would be to have a whole bunch of them.

They are new to me, meaning I had never heard about them, or seen them before.

Do you have to stick your nose in the flower to smell the bad, or do they stink all around?

You have skunk cabbage, I have stink bugs--Mother Nature is so cruel at times, but at least the cabbage is pretty to look at and doesn't crawl up your leg! :-))
